On Friday morning, the first charter flight of the season took off, carrying tourists to Marsa Alam in Egypt. The weather provided a natural water salute. Tomorrow and the day after, three planes will depart for Antalya, Turkey.
Just like last year, the holiday season at the airport began even before the May long weekend. Thanks to this, passengers can enjoy their time off between April and May in Egypt and Turkey. The weather is not yet extremely hot in these countries, and the pre-season holiday prices are very attractive. A week-long all-inclusive stay in Egypt starts from 1800 PLN, while in Turkey from 2000 PLN.
Further inaugurations of new routes are planned by travel agencies for the end of May. Flights to the Greek islands will then commence: Rhodes (May 26), Zakynthos (May 27), and Crete (May 28). The airport will also add more charter flights to the Turkish Riviera. In total, eight flights per week will operate to Antalya throughout the season. This frequency allows travelers to adjust the length of their trips to their preferences. If one week feels too short and two weeks too long, travelers can opt for stays of 10, 11, or 12 days. On May 30, for the first time, a charter flight from Łódź to Albania will take off. Along with Egypt, Albania is one of the new additions to this season’s offerings.
Albania has been a trendy and competitively priced holiday destination for several years now. It attracts visitors with its stunning views where mountains meet the sea, excellent Balkan cuisine, and beaches that can rival those of the Mediterranean.
Last season, Tunisia returned to the flight schedule and quickly gained many fans. This year, charter flights to Enfidha, Tunisia, will start on June 5. The last new charter route to be added to the departures board will be to Burgas, Bulgaria. Due to the Black Sea climate, the holiday season there starts later and ends earlier, already in mid-September.
"Last year, 93,000 travelers used our charter flights. This year, we are hoping for an even better result. We encourage everyone to fly on holiday from Łódź. The offer is very rich: in addition to Turkey, Bulgaria, Tunisia, and Greece, we now also have two new destinations — Albania and Egypt. We also encourage travelers to use our year-round scheduled flights to holiday destinations: Alicante, Malaga, and Milan Bergamo," says Robert Makowski, Commercial Director of Łódź Airport.
Flights to Turkey will operate eight times a week (departures on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays). Other destinations will have one flight per week on a fixed day, while flights to Egypt will also operate once a week but on varying days.
All major travel agencies offer summer charters: Coral Travel Poland, Itaka, Rainbow, Grecos Holiday, TUI, and – for the first time – JoinUp. Holiday packages departing from Łódź are also available at travel agency offices in Łódź and the surrounding region.
