On Saturday, together with tour operators and travel agencies, we summarised the charter's season 2019. For the first time, the annual meeting was combined with the Golden Pineapple Awards Gala for travel agencies that sold the most holiday trips departing from Lodz.
Over 28,000 passengers flew from the Lodz airport for holidays in 2019. This is an increase of 177% compared to the previous year! 12 000 customers chose the Turkish Antalya, 10 000 - Burgas, and 6 000 the Greek island of Zakynthos.

"It was the most successful charter season in years. We are very happy and thank the tour-operators and travel agencies for successful cooperation. Satisfied passengers and full planes are your merits and your hard work. We are already looking forward to next season. Each week, 11 charter flights will depart from Lodz airport to Antalya, Bodrum, Burgas and the Greek islands of Corfu, Rhodes, Zakynthos, and Crete. We estimate that together we will send 70,000 residents of Lodz city, the voivodship, but also neighboring regions on vacation, "said Dr. Anna Midera, CEO of the Lodz Airport.
For the first time, we awarded the statuette of Golden Pineapple and two Silver Pineapples. They were received by travel agencies that sold the most holiday trips departing from Lodz. Why pineapple? This exotic fruit is a symbol of hospitality, happiness, wealth and successful travel. The sound of the Chinese word "pineapple" is close to the sound of "good luck on your way," so pineapple has become a popular symbol of feng shui for wealth, fortune and prosperity. Pineapple promises a period of carefree relaxation according to the mystical dream book.
The Golden Pineapple statuette was awarded to the travel agency "Columbus Travel" from Lodz, and the Silver Pineapples were awarded to the "Pora wakacji" from Aleksandrow Lodzki and "Planeta Podróży" from Lodz. Awards were received by the owners of travel agencies: Michał Markowicz from "Columbus Travel", Sylwester Gadomski from Pora wakacji, Agata Wrzesińska from Planeta Podróży.
During the Gala, we also handed Super Pineapple Certificates for the active sale of holidays departing from Lodz. Travel agencies that received them:

A special award was given to the Golden Travel Łódź for the active promotion of holidays from Lodz in social media. A special prize was awarded to the Bonus Travel from Sieradz for active promotion of holidays from Lodz on a billboard displayed on the office building. The tour operators Rainbow, Grecos Holiday and Coral Travel also presented their awards to cooperating travel agencies.
